National Catalog: NTIN and GTIN

In the physical product form, you can find a card from Kazakhstan's National Catalog of Goods and link it to a product in FastyShop. You need the full NTIN or GTIN to run the search.

This link keeps the code and details of the selected card with the product. It does not mean registration, certification, a compliance check, or permission to sell.

What the National Catalog means in FastyShop​

The National Catalog of Goods, or NCT, is an external official source of product cards. FastyShop runs an exact search for the code you enter and lets you select an existing card.

FastyShop does not register products in the NCT, create cards, or assign identifiers. If you need to register a product, create a card, or obtain an identifier, open the official National Catalog website.

The difference between NTIN, GTIN, and XTIN​

  • NTIN is a product identifier in the National Catalog.
  • GTIN is a global trade item identifier. FastyShop can use it for an exact NCT card search.
  • XTIN is an external temporary mechanism that FastyShop does not support for product search or linking. FastyShop does not issue, obtain on a seller's behalf, or replace XTINs, and does not promise help obtaining one.

The FastyShop form supports a full NTIN or GTIN containing 13 or 14 digits. Use only the regular digits 0–9, without spaces, letters, or other characters.

Check three things:

  1. you opened the correct shop;
  2. you are creating or editing a Regular product;
  3. you have the full NTIN or GTIN for this specific product.

After the search, compare the visible name and identifiers on the card with the actual product. If the search returns several cards, FastyShop does not choose one for you.

Where to find the section​

  1. Open the required shop in the seller cabinet.
  2. Go to Product management.
  3. Create a regular product or open an existing one for editing.
  4. On the Main step, find the National Catalog section after the category and product name.

If the section is not displayed​

The National Catalog section is available in the form for creating and editing a regular product. If it is not shown after the category and product name, make sure you opened the correct shop and the form for creating or editing a regular product. Then refresh the page.

If the section is still not displayed, contact FastyShop support. Do not enter an NTIN or GTIN in the product name, SKU, or another unrelated field. Use the official National Catalog for product registration, card creation, and identifiers.

The missing section does not mean that the product is exempt from applicable requirements.

How to find and select a card​

  1. Enter the full 13- or 14-digit code using digits 0–9 in the NTIN/GTIN code field.
  2. Wait for the automatic exact search.
  3. If one or more cards appear, deliberately select the matching card.
  4. Compare the visible name, NTIN, and GTIN with the product you sell.
  5. Complete the other form fields.
  6. Save the entire product.

A selected card, a code kept for later verification, or a removed link becomes persistent only after the full product form is saved successfully.

How to read the statuses​

Cabinet statusWhat it means and what to do
No code addedNo code is saved. FastyShop technically allows saving or publishing without it, but this does not exempt the seller from applicable requirements.
Awaiting verificationThe technical verification is not complete. The code may have been saved for later verification only because the interface explicitly offered that action.
Linked to a National Catalog cardThe link is saved and a technical check against catalog data succeeded. This is not registration, certification, or legal approval.
Your attention is neededSearch again, check the code, and select the current card, or remove the link if it does not belong to the product.
National Catalog link needs reviewFind and select the previously chosen card again. This does not mean a certificate was withdrawn or sales were automatically prohibited.
Status unavailableThe cabinet could not safely read the current status. You can save other product changes while the existing link remains unchanged.

The badge color does not change the meaning. Use the status text and the available action.

If the search does not finish​

The code is incomplete or contains other characters​

Enter exactly 13 or 14 digits from 0–9. Check that the code has no spaces, letters, symbols, or digits from another writing system.

The code is not found​

Check every digit or use another official product code. A Code not found result does not confirm that the entered sequence is a valid NTIN or GTIN.

Several cards are found​

Compare their details and select the card yourself. Do not select the first result if it does not match the actual product.

Search is temporarily unavailable​

The code you entered and the previous selection stay in the form. Try again later. FastyShop does not guarantee the availability or freshness of the external catalog.

If the cabinet shows Save for a later check, you may choose it before saving the full product. Pending save is unavailable unless this action is shown. The code remains technically unverified.

Search is currently unavailable​

When access is blocked, refresh your session or complete the required seller actions. Then return to the search. Do not use pending or immediate retries to work around the restriction.

Too many requests​

Wait for the time shown in the cabinet and try the search later.

If the status is unavailable​

When the status is Status unavailable, you can save other product changes while the existing link remains unchanged. To resolve the status, choose Check the code again, run a fresh search, and select the card again. Canceling the change keeps the existing link.

The regular Remove link action is not available in this state. You can stage removal only if the cabinet explicitly requires the link to be removed while changing to an incompatible product type. In that case, stage the removal and the new type, then apply both in one full product save.

If the status remains unavailable, open the official FastyShop support page. Do not post a password, sign-in code, account, shop, or product identifiers, personal data, or confidential documents in public channels.

For an existing link, the cabinet may show Replace card, Check code again, Cancel change, and Remove link.

  • To replace or recheck a card, enter the code, select the card, and save the full product.
  • After you choose Remove link, removal is only staged. It is applied when you save the full product.
  • Before saving, you can choose Undo removal.

If the product type changes​

The NCT section belongs to a physical regular product. If a product already has an NCT link and you select an incompatible non-physical type, explicitly stage link removal first. Then save the removal and the new product type in one full product save.

You do not need to save the removal separately beforehand. The type change is rejected if the existing link is not explicitly removed.

Why the field is optional​

FastyShop does not block saving or publishing only because the product has no NCT code. This is an interface rule, not a conclusion about legal requirements.

The seller determines which requirements apply to their role, product, and transaction. FastyShop does not make this determination for the seller.

When NCT requirements apply, the seller ensures that the product is registered or that the required product information is present in the NCT for their role and transaction, and uses the identification code correctly. A manufacturer or importer ensures registration before sale where and as required by law.

If you provide an identifier, check that the selected card matches the actual product and keep the code and related product data accurate and current. If you discover an error or outdated information, correct the available data without undue delay and update or remove the FastyShop link.

On a lawful or reasoned request from FastyShop, provide the information and documents needed to check the product, identifier, and right to sell through the specified official secure channel. Separately fulfil applicable labeling, certification, origin, fiscal, accounting, and other primary-document obligations.

What FastyShop is responsible for​

FastyShop provides a limited search for an existing card and a technical link to the product. FastyShop does not:

  • register a product in the NCT;
  • create an NCT card;
  • assign an NTIN, GTIN, or XTIN;
  • issue, obtain on a seller's behalf, or replace an XTIN;
  • guarantee that the selected card matches the actual product;
  • confirm origin, authenticity, quality, safety, or legality of sale;
  • replace government authorities, certification bodies, labeling, certificates, permits, proof of origin, fiscal, accounting, or other primary documents;
  • guarantee the accuracy, freshness, or continuous availability of external catalog data.

An identifier, the selected card, and the statuses Awaiting verification, Linked to a National Catalog card, and Your attention is needed describe only the technical state of the link. They do not replace government authorities, certification bodies, or required documents and are not a legal opinion from FastyShop.

FastyShop may request a correction, required information or documents, and may apply general moderation measures provided by the Seller Agreement and Seller Rules. This does not mean continuous automatic monitoring, guaranteed detection of every violation, or automatic blocking, unpublishing, or deletion of every product.
