How to check a product on the storefront
After creating or changing a product, open the public storefront and check the product as a buyer.
Do not judge only the visual look. It is important to understand whether the product is visible, whether the card opens, and whether the price, availability, photo, and description are clear.
Step 1: save the product
After editing, click Save product or Save changes, if that action exists in the current interface.
Wait for save confirmation. Do not close the page immediately after changing price, stock, or images.
Step 2: check the shop and storefront
The product cannot normally be shown to the buyer if the shop itself or the storefront is unavailable.
Check that:
- the shop is active;
- the storefront opens through the public link;
- there is no limited mode warning;
- the main shop details are filled in.
This is described in more detail in Shop and storefront.
Step 3: check the category
Open Product categories and check that:
- the category is published;
- parent categories are not archived;
- the category has not been removed from the catalog structure;
- the product belongs to the needed category.
If the category is in drafts or archive, the product inside it may not be displayed on the storefront.
Step 4: check the product
Open the product in Product management.
Check that:
- the product is published;
- the product is not archived;
- the category is selected correctly;
- required category fields are filled in;
- base price and final price look correct;
- stock is filled in;
- the primary image is uploaded;
- the description is clear to the buyer.
Step 5: open the public storefront
Open the storefront from the cabinet or through the public shop link.
Check that:
- the category is visible in the catalog if it should be visible;
- the product is in the correct category;
- the product card opens;
- the primary image is displayed;
- price and availability do not contradict the cabinet details.
If the cabinet has Open on platform for the product, use it and check the public product card.
Step 6: check on a phone
Most buyers may open the storefront from a phone.
Check that:
- the product name is readable without zooming;
- the photo does not look too small or cropped;
- the price is visible near the product;
- buttons and links are easy to tap;
- the description does not get lost under other blocks.
What not to confuse
The public product link may appear automatically when the card is available to the buyer. Manual management of the product address is not currently described as a seller feature.
Product appearance in the shop does not mean automatic appearance in search engines or external catalogs.
What to do if...
The product is not displayed on the storefront
Check the shop, storefront, category, and product itself. Most often the problem is connected with product status, category status, archive, required fields, price, or stock.
The category is visible, but the product is not
Open the product and check whether it is published, not archived, and belongs to this category. Then check price, stock, and required category fields.
The product opens, but details are old
Make sure changes are saved. Refresh the storefront page. If the buyer already opened the card, ask them to refresh the page or open the link again.
The primary image is not visible
Check image upload in the cabinet. If the image is processing, wait. If upload failed, upload the image again.
The buyer cannot move to purchase
This article does not cover cart, checkout, delivery, and payment. First check that the product is published and has price and stock. Then open Payment and delivery and Seller orders if the problem is connected with further checkout.
