Buyer-view check
Before sending the store link, open the storefront as a buyer. It is better to do this from a phone because buyers often come from messengers and social networks.
The goal of the check is not to find a perfect design. The goal is to make sure the buyer understands the store, the product, and the next step.
Step 1: open the public link from a phone
Copy the store's public link and open it not from the cabinet, but like a regular buyer.
Check that:
- the link opens without an error;
- you see the correct store;
- the name and description are readable without zooming;
- the logo or image does not prevent understanding the page;
- the buyer immediately understands what the store sells.
If the link does not open, check Store public link.
Step 2: find a product
Try to find a product the way a buyer would.
Check that:
- categories have clear names;
- the product is in the expected category;
- the product name is readable on a small screen;
- the photo helps tell the product apart from others;
- the price is visible without extra searching.
If the product is not visible, go through the checklist How to check a product on the storefront.
Step 3: open the product card
Open the card and ask yourself:
- is it clear what product this is?
- is there a price and final amount without surprises?
- is stock visible, or is it clear that the product can be ordered?
- are there enough photos?
- are important details written: size, material, set contents, production time, or limitations?
- does the description not contradict the photos?
If after reading the card you still want to ask the seller a simple question, add the answer to the card.
Step 4: check the path to purchase
If the product is available for purchase, check what happens next.
Check that:
- the add-to-cart button or purchase action is visible;
- the product is added to the cart as expected;
- the buyer understands what to do after adding it;
- payment and delivery terms appear where expected;
- checkout has no text that contradicts the product card.
Payment and delivery terms are described in detail in Payments and delivery.
Step 5: check contacts and trust
The buyer may want to clarify details before ordering.
Check that:
- store contacts are current;
- legal information is filled in if it is needed for your work format;
- the public trust mark is displayed correctly if seller documents are verified;
- payment and delivery terms are written in simple words;
- there are no promises that you cannot fulfill.
If the trust mark looks unclear, open Public trust mark.
Step 6: check empty areas
The buyer notices not only mistakes, but also empty areas.
Check that:
- there are no internal names such as
TestorNew product; - there are no products without photos if photos are important for choosing;
- there are no categories without clear meaning;
- there are no old contacts;
- there is no product with an incorrect price or stock;
- there are no delivery terms that no longer apply.
Quick result
After the check, the storefront should answer three questions:
- what the store sells;
- why the buyer can trust this store;
- how the buyer can take the next step.
If at least one answer is not obvious, fix product cards, the storefront, or terms before sending the link.
