Delivery methods

A delivery method explains to the buyer how they will receive the order. In FastyShop, this can be pickup, seller delivery, or another manual scenario the shop is ready to fulfill.

Currently, FastyShop does not deliver orders instead of the seller. You describe the terms, then fulfill them yourself or through your own arrangements.

Delivery settings page

Open the seller cabinet, choose the needed shop, and find payment and delivery settings. In the interface, this section may be available from the shop card, shop settings, or a separate delivery and payment action.

If you have several shops, first check the shop name. Delivery methods belong to a specific shop.

On the delivery settings page you can:

  1. add address delivery or pickup;
  2. enable or temporarily disable a method;
  3. change the name, description, and instruction;
  4. set the delivery price if it is fixed;
  5. request an address only for methods where it is really needed;
  6. save changes and check the buyer preview.

Next step: after saving, check that the correct payment methods are available for the selected delivery.

Difference between pickup and delivery

Pickup works when the buyer should collect the order themselves. The instruction should explain:

  1. where to collect the order;
  2. when the order can be collected;
  3. whether the buyer should wait for confirmation first;
  4. how to contact the shop if the buyer cannot come.

Delivery works when the order needs to be handed over at the buyer's address. The instruction should explain:

  1. who delivers the order;
  2. in which districts or cities delivery is possible;
  3. how the time is agreed;
  4. whether delivery is paid;
  5. what to do if the address needs clarification.

Do not write that FastyShop performs delivery if it is done by the seller or a third-party service arranged by the seller.

What to fill in

For each method, check:

  1. Name - short, so the buyer immediately understands the option, for example Pickup or City delivery.
  2. Description or instruction - what the buyer should know before placing the order.
  3. Delivery price - if delivery is paid or has a fixed price.
  4. Whether an address is needed - request an address only where it is really needed.
  5. Method status - whether the method is enabled or temporarily hidden from buyers.

The instruction should be written in human language. Do not leave service notes, internal abbreviations, or promises that you cannot fulfill consistently.

Why at least one enabled method is needed

If the shop has no available delivery or order receiving method, the buyer may be unable to complete checkout. They will not understand how to receive the product.

Before publishing the storefront, check that at least one method is enabled and clear.

When the buyer should enter an address

An address is needed for address delivery. For pickup, the buyer's address is usually not needed.

If the buyer chooses delivery, the checkout page may ask for an address and delivery comment. The seller will see this data in the order and may use it only to process this order.

Do not request an address where it is not needed. The less unnecessary data checkout asks for, the easier it is for the buyer to place the order.

What the buyer sees

During checkout, the buyer sees available delivery methods, their names, instructions, and price if one is set. After choosing delivery, the buyer sees compatible payment methods.

If delivery is paid, the delivery price should be clear before the buyer sends the order.

What to check after saving

After saving, open the storefront and go through checkout as a buyer.

Check that:

  1. the delivery method is displayed;
  2. the name is clear;
  3. the instruction is not cut off and does not look like an internal note;
  4. the delivery price appears as expected;
  5. the address is requested only for delivery methods where it is needed;
  6. suitable payment methods are available after choosing delivery.

What to do if...

The buyer does not see delivery

Check that the method is enabled, belongs to the correct shop, and was not accidentally hidden. Then refresh the storefront and repeat checkout.

Pickup asks for an address

Check the address setting for the delivery method. If an address is not needed, turn off the address request for this method.

The delivery price is wrong

Fix the price in shop settings and save the changes. Orders already created may keep the data the buyer saw during checkout.

Delivery is temporarily unavailable

Disable the method or write a clear instruction if you are still ready to accept orders with manual agreement. Do not leave buyers with an option you cannot fulfill.
