How selected methods appear in an order
After checkout, the payment and delivery methods selected by the buyer are saved in the order. The seller uses this data to understand the next step.
Where to view the order
Open the seller cabinet, choose the needed shop, and go to Orders. Then open the needed order from the list.
If you have several shops, first make sure the right shop is open. Orders and payment/delivery settings belong to a specific shop.
Where to view delivery
In the order details, find the Delivery block.
It may show:
- the selected delivery or pickup method;
- delivery status;
- address, if it is needed for the selected method;
- buyer comment;
- delivery price if one was set during checkout.
If pickup was selected, do not process the order as address delivery. If delivery was selected, check the address and comment before preparing the order.
Where to view payment
In the order details, find the Payment block.
It may show:
- selected payment method;
- payment instruction or meaning;
- payment status;
- actions available to the seller, for example issuing an invoice or confirming payment.
Do not mark payment as confirmed if you have not checked it through your manual process. FastyShop does not confirm manual payment for the seller.
How statuses are connected to processing
An order has several states:
- overall order status;
- payment status;
- delivery status.
They may differ. For example, the order may already be accepted while payment is still waiting for confirmation. Or the order may be ready for pickup while the buyer has not collected it yet.
Payment and delivery statuses are described in Payment and delivery in an order.
Why the order of actions depends on the selected method
Different delivery and payment pairs require different order of actions.
Examples:
- For pickup and payment on receipt, first prepare the order, then tell the buyer it is ready.
- For address delivery, first check the address and comment, then agree on handover.
- For a manual invoice or transfer, you may first need to send the buyer an instruction, then confirm payment after checking it.
The cabinet shows available actions for the current order state. If an action is unavailable, check statuses and order history.
What to check before an action
Before changing a status, check:
- selected delivery method;
- selected payment method;
- address and comment;
- order amount and delivery price;
- order history;
- hints and available actions in the cabinet.
Do not change a status only because the buyer wrote a request in a comment. First check whether there is a suitable action and whether it matches the real situation.
What to do if...
There is no address in the order
Check the selected delivery method. For pickup, an address may not be needed. If address delivery requires an address, contact the buyer through the data in the order and clarify it.
The buyer paid outside FastyShop
Check the payment through your manual process. If payment is confirmed, use the action in the cabinet if it is available. Do not mark payment without checking it.
The method in the order differs from current shop settings
Use the data of the specific order. The buyer placed the order under the terms that were available at that moment.
The delivery method needs to change after checkout
Check available actions and contact the buyer. If the cabinet does not allow changing the method directly, do not correct the data with random comments. Record the agreement and follow the available process.
