Payment methods

A payment method explains to the buyer how they should pay for the order. Currently, payment methods in FastyShop are manual seller instructions, not online payment inside the platform.

FastyShop does not accept money for goods or delivery, does not charge the buyer's card, and does not confirm payment without a seller action.

The seller is responsible for a receipt or another confirming document for their sale, as well as money refunds, exchanges, or product returns for their orders if that duty applies to their activity and payment method.

Payment settings page

Open the seller cabinet, choose the needed shop, and go to payment and delivery settings. Payment methods belong to a specific shop and should match the terms you are actually ready to fulfill.

On the payment settings page you can:

  1. add a manual payment method;
  2. enable or temporarily disable a method;
  3. change the name, description, and buyer instruction;
  4. choose a payment handling scenario, for example payment on receipt or a manual invoice;
  5. specify which delivery methods this payment is available for;
  6. save changes and check how they look in buyer checkout.

Next step: after saving, choose delivery on the checkout page as a buyer and make sure only suitable payment methods are shown.

What can be described as a payment method

In settings, you can describe buyer-friendly options such as:

  1. payment on receipt;
  2. cash at pickup;
  3. cash on delivery;
  4. payment by invoice or link if you send it to the buyer yourself;
  5. transfer by details or through Kaspi if this is your manual scenario.

Do not add real bank details, IIN/BIN, card numbers, or personal data to the instruction unless the interface requires it and it has been legally checked. Documentation must not store such examples.

How to explain payment on receipt

If the buyer pays on receipt, write:

  1. when the buyer pays;
  2. who receives the payment;
  3. whether payment is available for pickup, delivery, or both;
  4. whether the buyer should prepare the exact amount;
  5. what to do if the buyer wants to change the receiving method.

The meaning of the instruction should be clear: the buyer understands that payment happens after order confirmation or when the goods are handed over, not at the moment of placing the order.

How to explain Kaspi, invoice, or transfer

If you use Kaspi, invoice, or manual transfer, describe it as the seller's manual process.

Explain to the buyer:

  1. when the seller will send payment details, invoice, or link;
  2. where the buyer should wait for the instruction;
  3. whether they should wait for order confirmation first;
  4. that the seller will update the payment status after checking the payment;
  5. how the buyer will receive a receipt or confirming document if it is needed for this sale.

Do not promise automatic Kaspi integration, bank integration, or instant confirmation if the cabinet does not show it.

Why at least one enabled method is needed

If there is no available payment method, the buyer may be unable to complete checkout. They will not understand how to pay for the order.

Before showing the storefront to buyers, check that at least one payment method is enabled and compatible with the needed delivery.

What compatibility with delivery means

Not every payment method fits every delivery method.

For example:

  1. Cash at pickup may fit only pickup.
  2. Cash to courier may fit only delivery.
  3. Transfer after confirmation may fit both pickup and delivery if you are ready to work this way.

Compatibility is needed so the buyer cannot choose an impossible pair, such as address delivery and a payment method that is allowed only at the pickup point.

What the buyer sees

First the buyer chooses delivery. After that, the checkout page shows only payment methods that fit the selected delivery.

If the buyer changes delivery, the list of payment methods may change.

What to check after saving

After saving, open checkout as a buyer and check that:

  1. the payment method appears after choosing the needed delivery;
  2. an incompatible payment method is not shown;
  3. the instruction is clear;
  4. there are no unverified bank details or internal notes;
  5. the payment flow does not look like a promise of online payment inside FastyShop.

What to do if...

The buyer does not see the payment method

Check that the payment method is enabled and compatible with the selected delivery. Then refresh checkout and choose delivery again.

Payment fits only pickup

Limit compatibility to that delivery method and explain it in the instruction. Do not show this payment method for address delivery if you do not support it there.

The instruction became too long

Leave only what the buyer needs before sending the order: when to pay, how to receive payment details or an invoice, and when to wait for confirmation. Keep detailed internal rules for yourself.

You made a mistake in the instruction

Fix the payment method and save the changes. If the buyer already placed an order with the wrong instruction, contact them through the data in the order and calmly clarify the correct process.
