How to check the storefront after changes

After changing shop details or storefront settings, open the public page and check it as a buyer.

You do not need to judge the storefront as a designer. The important thing is to make sure the buyer understands whose shop this is, what it sells, and how to take the next step.

Step 1: save changes in the cabinet

After editing shop details or storefront settings, click Save, if that action exists on the page.

Wait until the cabinet shows that changes were saved. Do not close the page immediately after editing.

Step 2: open the public storefront

Open the storefront through Open storefront or go to the public link.

If you are sending the link to a buyer, check exactly the link you are going to send.

Step 3: check the first impression

Look at the top part of the storefront:

  1. the shop name is written correctly;
  2. the description clearly explains what you sell;
  3. the logo is displayed as you expected;
  4. the promo block does not cover important information;
  5. the public trust mark is displayed correctly, if seller documents are verified.

If the trust mark is not displayed, open Public trust mark and check what it means.

Step 4: check contacts

The buyer should understand how to contact the shop.

Check:

  1. phone;
  2. email;
  3. social contacts;
  4. address, if it matters for your shop format.

Do not publish contacts where you cannot answer buyers consistently.

Step 5: check the storefront on a phone

Most buyers may open the storefront from a phone.

Check that:

  1. the name and description are readable without zooming;
  2. buttons and links are easy to tap;
  3. the logo does not look too small or cropped;
  4. the promo block does not take the whole useful area;
  5. a product or category opens, if they have already been created and published.

Step 6: check the catalog only at a basic level

This article does not cover the catalog in detail. For a quick check, it is enough to make sure that the buyer sees published categories and products, if they already exist.

If there are no products, this is not a storefront error. First add the catalog in the cabinet.

Step 7: check restrictions and warnings

If the storefront shows limited mode or a warning, do not ignore it.

Check whether:

  1. the shop is active;
  2. required details are filled in;
  3. the legal profile is selected correctly;
  4. document verification requires corrections;
  5. the cabinet shows an action that needs to be completed.

What to do if...

The public storefront does not open

Check the shop status and public link. Then try to open the storefront from the cabinet.

If it does not open from the cabinet either, check shop details and contact support.

The buyer sees old details

First make sure the changes were saved. Then refresh the storefront page.

If you changed the SEO title, description, or image for the link, messengers and search engines may not update the preview immediately.

Products or categories are not visible

Check whether products and categories are created, published, and belong to the correct shop.

Detailed catalog work will be described separately. In this article, the important point is only to understand that the storefront shows the catalog that has already been prepared.

Contacts are not displayed

Check shop settings and the Social contacts block in storefront settings. Make sure links and contact details are saved.

The promo block gets in the buyer's way

Make the title shorter, remove extra text, or temporarily do not use the promo block. The main task of the storefront is to help the buyer understand the shop and move to products.
